How to Choose the Right Floating TV Stand Size

Here is the simple rule: your TV stand should be wider than your TV. Ideally 6 to 12 inches wider on each side. This creates visual balance and gives you space for speakers, decor, and cable management without the stand looking cramped.

Match by TV size:

If you have a 55 inch TV, look for a stand between 55 and 63 inches wide. If you have a 65 inch TV, look for a stand between 65 and 75 inches wide. If you have a 75 inch TV, look for a stand between 75 and 85 inches wide. If you have an 80 inch TV, you want a stand at least 80 inches wide or a modular system you can expand.

Height matters too:

The center of your TV screen should sit at eye level when you are seated — approximately 42 inches from the floor for most adults on a standard sofa. Your floating TV stand should be mounted so the TV sits comfortably above it with a small gap. Most floating TV stands work best mounted between 18 and 24 inches from the floor.

Wall mounting considerations:
